Daming Palace Archaeological Exploration Center is located on the west side of Hanyuan Hall Front Area of Daming Palace National Archaeological Site Park.It is adjacent to the front area of Daming Palace in the east,west of Dianqian West Road in the south,middle Jianfu Road in the west and Shaoqing Road in the north.It belongs to the tourism supporting service facilities area of Daming Palace National Archaeological Site Park in Xi'an.It covers an area of 43,720.82 square meters and a building area of 21204.59 square meters.
The Archaeological Exploration Center is divided into three parts:four indoor exhibition halls,outdoor activity area and cinema:
The first indoor exhibition hall introduces the development and evolution of three articles of daily use,such as clothing,coins and bronze mirrors,which are closely related to People's Daily life,so that visitors can understand the relationship between archaeology and human life.The lobby introduces famous archeologists at home and abroad to show their working scenes,and tells the stories of people and cultural relics in various fields behind these archeologists.
In the second exhibition hall,visitors can experience the knowledge of archaeological exploration,archaeological investigation and archaeological excavation,and understand the research methods and development process of archaeology through a large-scale simulation of archaeological investigation and excavation site scenes,and multimedia interactive archaeological games.The western part of the exhibition hall mainly introduces the preparation work before the field excavation through the visual introduction of archaeological investigation and exploration,supplemented by video and multimedia experience.In the eastern half,visitors can learn about the methods and contents of archaeological excavations through scene reproduction and multimedia games.Here,visitors can get a glimpse of the objects of archaeological study.By visiting and participating in this exhibition hall,archaeology will be less mysterious.
The third exhibition hall lets visitors understand the classification and methods of cultural relics restoration through interactive games,and simulates the life scenes of Tang people with the example of"Banqueting Map"in Tang Dynasty.From this preliminary understanding of archaeology,visitors can understand how important the research achievements of archaeology are to people's understanding of the social life of ancient people.
In front is the Tang Dynasty dressing table,the table is the Tang Dynasty Weiqi,around the Tang people used bowls,plates and other daily necessities......History cannot be reproduced,but this glass house here can fulfill the audience's dream of"returning to the Tang Dynasty".What's more,although the Tang Dynasty is a long time ago,visitors can see the life scenes of that time through some of the paintings that have been passed down from the past.The painting in front of us not only shows the artistic achievements of painting in the Tang Dynasty,but also visually and vividly shows the society of the Tang Dynasty,especially the life scene of the upper class.It provides extremely precious image materials for people to understand the politics,history,painting,clothing and so on in the Tang Dynasty.
The fourth hall is the exhibition hall of cultural relics restoration and world cultural heritage,as well as the rubbing experience area.Here,visitors are shown the real scenes of cultural relics restoration,the introduction of world cultural heritage,and the significance of studying and protecting cultural heritage.
Making rubbings is a traditional craft that uses rice paper and ink to clearly copy the words or patterns on steles and vessels.Few people know this craft,and even fewer can do it.In this exhibition hall,visitors can use professional tools to make rubbings on replica steles,and fully experience the pleasure brought by traditional crafts.
