  Daming Palace

Daming Palace,the main hall of the Tang Dynasty,the political center and national symbol of the Tang Dynasty,is located in Longshou Yuan,north of present-day Xi'an.First built in 634,it was originally named Yong'an Palace.It is the largest of the three main palaces in Chang'an(Daming Palace,Taiji Palace and Xingqing Palace),and it is called"Dongnei".Since the beginning of Tang Gaozong,17 emperors of the Tang Dynasty have handled their government affairs here,lasting more than 200 years.
The Daming Palace was the most magnificent palace complex in the world at that time,and its architectural form influenced the construction of palaces in many countries in East Asia at that time.Covering an area of 3.5 square kilometers,Daming Palace is 4.5 times the size of the Forbidden City in Beijing during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.It is reputed as the Palace of a Thousand Palacesand the Oriental Temple on the Silk Road.In 896,the Daming Palace was destroyed by the war at the end of the Tang Dynasty.
In 1961,the Daming Palace Site was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as one of the first national key cultural relic protection sites.In 2010,the city of Xi'an established the Daming Palace National Heritage Park on the site of the original Daming Palace.On June 22,2014,held in doha,Qatar,the 38th UNESCO world heritage committee meeting,tang chang'an palace ruins as China,kazakhstan and kyrgyzstan joint support of"the silk road:changan-tianshan corridor network"of a site successfully listed in the"world heritage list".
